"My daughter has been taking lessons with Isaiah for just about 1 year and has made great progress with him. She has made huge strides in improving her form and technique with him as her coach. He has an uncanny knack for being able to spot and make minor tweaks to grip, racquet head placement, footwork, etc. that many others wouldn't catch. He's also got the right personality blend of being fun yet strict enough to keep the kids on track. We've also recently signed up my second daughter to take lessons from him. If you're looking for a tennis coach, I would strongly recommend Coach Isaiah." Winnie T.
"Our daughter has been taking lessons with Coach Isaiah since she first picked up a racket. She's progressed from Red ball to Orange ball and now to Green ball. Coach Isaiah has not only been incredibly helpful with the core fundamentals of tennis but has taught her a foundation of technique that she can build on forever. He has a unique ability to provide very detailed observations and changes to help improve her game. He's also been a very positive influence and role model for her in sports. We would highly recommend Coach Isaiah!" Dennis Y.
"Our child has been taking lessons with Coach Isaiah for almost a year.
We've enjoyed seeing how much his tennis has improved and watching him play matches in junior team tennis. Coach Isaiah is very experienced and knows how to teach proper technique. He is truly a coach who can quickly analyze your child's performance, instruct your child on what adjustment to make, and offer encouragement. Coach Isaiah also keeps the lessons fun! We and our son highly recommend Coach Isaiah." Diana K.
"My son was a student of Isaiah's and enjoyed taking tennis lessons from him very much. He learned not just the fundamentals but also correct conditioning techniques and the importance of keeping a positive attitude and working hard to achieve your goals. Isaiah is very knowledgable about tennis and has a great deal of experience teaching kids and adults. I never once saw him act negatively towards my son or other students and this allowed my son and his other students to improve their games while still enjoying the fun of playing. I highly recommend Isaiah and Ignite Tennis Academy for anyone seeking professional and successful tennis instruction." Matt D.
Meet The Director
A Bay Area native, Isaiah gravitated to tennis through the influence of his grandfather, a highly successful player with the US Navy. Under the instruction of great coaches, including former Wimbledon doubles champion Sandy Mayer, Isaiah quickly exceled in the sport and earned a spot on the team at Biola University. At Biola, Isaiah played #1 doubles and #2 singles, and was named to the NAIA Academic All-District team for a combination of academic and athletic achievements.
During his summer breaks, Isaiah discovered his love for coaching when he coordinated clinics at local student programs - Peninsula Covenant Community Center and Ravenswood Youth Athletic Association. After college, Isaiah continued helping students enjoy and advance in sports as a Physical Education teacher, soccer coach, coach of Lick-Wilmerding High School Boys Tennis Team, a pro at Broadway Tennis Center, and most recently as the Tennis Director of the Peninsula Tennis Academy.
Working with players of all ages, he enjoys finding creative ways to engage his students in fun lesson plans that bring out their best.
Away from the court, Isaiah is a professional violinist, regularly playing events throughout the bay area, and has just released his second album of original pieces. He also loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters, and play any sports that come his way.
